What is an overshirt?
An overshirt is simply explained as a shirt that you wear on top of another garment such as a t-shirt or sweater. The overshirt is used today as both a shirt and a jacket and is available in many different qualities and designs.
What's good about an overshirt?
The advantage is that you dress in layers upon layers, which makes it easy to take off and on as needed.

A jacket is more often lined and generally has more details.
Why should I wear an overshirt?
An overshirt can be a bit more universal in its use and can often be matched better together with different clothing styles as it works indoors and outdoors depending on the heat and weather.
The overshirt or shirt jacket in Swedish has really come to stay and will soon be in every man's wardrobe. It has more and more taken over from the blazer in its various designs and is many times easier to dress in than a blazer which can quite often be seen as dressed up, while a layered shirt jacket is easier to dress and has a slightly more relaxed feel .
Many of our popular overshirts have their origin from old work clothes of various kinds, the workers who worked on the railway with their blue blouses or the factory workers at the mill with their blue jackets in various models.
The porridge coats that were used in rags also belong to this category of practical basic garments that were used when cleaning and cleaning the lodgings!
If you look back in time, you can see how people dressed in layers upon layers in classic natural materials depending on the season and what kind of activity they were doing. Many people use overshirts all year round, maybe not the same overshirt, but you have a few different models in your wardrobe that you can alternate with depending on the weather and the occasion. If you think that you dress in layers, it can actually work really well with a thinner shirt jacket even in winter if it is windproof.
Just as you have a few different trousers and jeans in your wardrobe, it may be an idea to think a little "seasonally" also when buying an overshirt, we recommend slightly thicker denser fabrics during the cold seasons to perhaps choose slightly cooler materials such as cotton/linen when the heat comes, but here too, overshirts in functional materials have started to appear, which can be very universal when the weather is a bit unstable!
When it comes to colours, it's a bit like blazers and jackets, some basic colors are more workable than others, here are some basic colors that work most of the time, navy blue, black, dark grey, olive green, dark brown and maybe a natural, beige or khaki.
