Sharpness meets Denim: Jeansverket and Tormek celebrate Swedish craftsmanship in new collaboration

What happens when world-leading grinding precision meets textile craftsmanship from Borås? The answer is MC-1 Cover - a product where two Swedish brands unite in their love for quality, function and local production.

At Jeansverket we were both proud and happy when Tormek contacted us with a request. They were looking for a partner to develop a protective hood for their Tormek T-1 Kitchen Knife Sharpener, the machine that has brought professional sharpening into the home chef's kitchen. The goal was not just to create a guard, but to create something that matched Tormek's high standards of design and durability.

The result is a collaboration that celebrates Swedish manufacturing tradition - a meeting between steel and cotton, between Tormek precision and Scandinavian design.

A design journey in three steps

The process began with Tormek sharing their thoughts on function and aesthetics. We at Jeansverket took this to the drawing board and started sketching. The inspiration was clear from the start: we wanted the hood to breathe the same feeling as our jeans.

It took craftsmanship to get it right.

"Inspired by the Jeansverket jeans, the design slowly evolved. After the third prototype, we felt we were home - everyone was happy and satisfied."

The MC-1 Cover was born. A product that not only bears the Jeansverket signature, but is literally sewn on the same machines and with the same techniques we use to make our jeans and jackets.

MC-1 Cover: Functional finesse down to the last detail

The cover, made in our Borås factory, is made from the finest quality denim from Candiani - the same durable fabric we use in our garments. It is carefully stitched to protect the knife sharpener from dust and moisture, while becoming a stylish interior detail in the kitchen.

But it's the details that really define the collaboration:

• Swedish leather: The hood has a robust carrying handle in Swedish leather. Not only is it stylish, but it's also practically designed to be easily removed when the hood needs to be machine washed.

• Patch pocket: Tormek knows that sharp knives demand respect. That's why there is a special pocket dedicated to Tormek patches - always close at hand.

• Neat and tidy: A sturdy loop keeps your EM-15 Sharpener in place, so you're always ready to mark the edge for sharpening.
