Denim Overshirt

A classic, stylish, and well-made overshirt with a practical inner pocket. The jacket is made from organic denim from the Italian company Candiani. The original dye, made with genuine indigo juice, gives the overshirt a natural and authentic patina over time. The raw denim is a bit stiff at first but becomes soft and comfortable after some wear and washing. It fastens with buttons down the front and features two lower patch pockets and a practical zippered inner pocket. This fabric is sanforized and shrinks virtually nothing (max 1% in our tests) What is Indigojuice? Indigojuice® is a patented dyeing technique from Candiani Denim, designed to make denim production more sustainable. Traditionally, denim is dyed by dipping the yarn multiple times in large vats of synthetic indigo dye, a process that requires a great deal of water, energy, and chemicals. The dye penetrates deep into the fiber, which means even more water and chemicals are needed during the washing process to achieve the classic distressed look. With Indigojuice®, the dye is instead applied more superficially to the yarn. This means that: Less water and chemicals are required: Since the dye sits on the surface, significantly less water and chemicals are needed in the wash to achieve the worn effect. Candiani claims that this can save up to 83% of the water and 60% of the chemicals used during the washing process. Lower energy consumption: The dyeing and washing processes also require less energy. More authentic look: The technique is designed to more easily create a “vintage” aesthetic with natural fading and wear.
