The new Merino jeans from Jeansverket are the perfect combination of timeless style and modern function. These jeans are made in Sweden from a unique 12 oz denim from Italian weaver Berto, which blends 58% cotton with 42% technical merino wool. This innovative blend gives you jeans that not only look great, but also offer unparalleled comfort and performance. Why merino wool? The merino wool in these jeans makes them more than just a pair of stylish pants. The material is naturally temperature regulating, meaning it breathes when it's hot and insulates when it's cold. They're also naturally odor-resistant and wick away moisture, keeping you fresh for longer and reducing the need to wash them often. This is not only comfortable, but also better for the environment. Our opinion after about 4 months of use: The first few days we experienced that the raw denim with wool had a little "wool feeling" but that it subsided after a few days, after washing it was nothing we reflected on, we washed at 30 degrees, important to wash separately and in and out to maintain a smooth nice surface for the first few washes before some color was washed out. The pants are soft and comfortable and basically require no further "wear" we recommend treating the jeans a little more carefully than usual as they contain wool. After another 8-10 weeks of intensive use, we find that the jeans feel fresh and smell very little compared to regular cotton jeans, but after 12 weeks we still thought it was time for wash no. 2, so far the jeans feel comparable to cotton jeans but they are more comfortable to wear and absorb less odor... Design and details With its straight design and normal waist, the jeans have a classic fit that suits most body types. They feature a sturdy YKK zipper in antique copper and recycled polyester and a logo embossed button in eco treatment that saves energy. An embossed bio-skin patch with the Jeansverket logo adds a final touch of quality. What is regenerative cotton? Regenerative cotton is cotton that is grown using methods that not only seek to reduce environmental impact, but actively work to recreate and enhance natural ecosystems. While 'organic cotton' focuses mainly on what not to use (no chemical pesticides or fertilizers), the regenerative model goes a step further by focusing on tangible results for the planet. The pillars of regenerative farming Soil Health: Minimizing ploughing so as not to disturb soil microlife. The more organic matter in the soil, the better it binds carbon dioxide and water. Carbon sequestration: By improving soil health, the field acts as a 'carbon sink', absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, helping to combat climate change. Biodiversity: Different types of crops are often planted together (crop rotation or cover crops) to attract beneficial insects and prevent soil erosion. Water management: Healthy soil with lots of organic matter acts like a sponge. It allows crops to cope with both droughts and heavy rains much better than conventional fields.
