Cotton, a favorite choice for many people thanks to its comfort and breathability. But is it an ideal fabric for hiking? Many would say no, but we beg to differ and claim that your favorite jeans have as much of a place in the great outdoors as any high-tech textile. We took help from our friend Magnus Arwenhed to prove the skeptics wrong and continue the love for our favorite fabric even while journeying in the rugged wilderness.

Our friend Magnus loves to go and explore nature, preferably in jeans and other garments with robust natural materials. Magnus' passion for nature began early.
With a mother who was a scout leader and a father who was a hunter, Magnus was marinated in the outdoor life while he was growing up. The family often hiked the Sörmlandsleden, spent a lot of time in the archipelago, and hiked in the mountains every year. But he was "bitten" by nature when he started growing up and understood what a fantastic world his parents wanted to show Magnus and his brother while they were growing up.

"This is the legacy I want to manage and pass on."
"When I have not had the opportunity or time to go out into the forest for a while, a strong longing comes over me. A longing for the peace I experience in the forest. The silence, the peace, the unity with nature. Something happens to us when we spend time in the forest and on the ground - all the musts and chores we have in our daily lives immediately feel distant and peace comes. A calm. "

Jeans are one of the most universal items of clothing, almost everyone has a trusty pair of jeans in their wardrobe. Seen as a casual classic, jeans are a great clothing choice for many different occasions and activities. Originally, denim jeans were created as durable trouser for ranch work, as denim is a hard-wearing and comfortable material. Jeans are also commonly worn at construction sites, so they clearly have their uses as durable and practical clothing items.
Denim has one key quality that makes it extremely appealing to outdoors people — durability. Whether wading through tall grass or sitting on a log by a campfire, denim stays rip-free and repels rough elements like no other textile. Indeed, Magnus said his inspiration to hike in denim originated from the textile’s rugged nature. If the fabric was good enough for miners and cowboys, it must be good enough for hikers.
