Kero, located in the village of Sattajärvi, Tornedalen, has been making leather products since its inception in 1929 and the tradition of craftsmanship has been passed down from generation to generation. Naturally tanned leather and leather made from plant-based substances are gentle on the environment and make the leather soft and supple. The leather belt is made of robust leather from Swedish cattle and has a fine decorative stitching all around, a strong silver buckle and seven holes for size adjustment. In our factory in Borås, we have riveted on our decorative rivet and punched our logo into the leather. NOTE ! Choose your length under size and look at the length in cm and what span you can adjust the belt with to get a belt that you like in size! Why should you choose naturally tanned leather? More environmentally friendly process: The tanning is done with natural substances, usually tannins (tannic acids) extracted from plants such as bark, leaves and roots (eg mimosa trees). This is an alternative to chrome tanning, which accounts for the majority of the world's leather production and uses the heavy metal chromium, which can be harmful to the environment if not handled correctly. Heavy metal free: As no harmful chemicals or heavy metals are used, the end product is healthier to use, especially for people with sensitive skin. Biodegradable: Naturally tanned leather is biodegradable, which means it has a minimal environmental impact once it has served its useful life. Traceability and animal welfare: Many vegetable tanned leather producers place a strong emphasis on traceability and can often trace the hides back to the farm, helping to ensure good animal welfare Quality and Aesthetics Unique patina: One of the most loved characteristics. The leather ages beautifully and develops a unique, deeper color and character (patina) over time and through use. It becomes more personalized the more you use it. Durability and strength: It is a strong and durable material that is built to last - often for generations. The longevity itself contributes to sustainable consumption. Living material: Naturally tanned leather often retains more of the skin's natural texture, giving a more vibrant and unique finish. Softness and suppleness: Although the process can be time-consuming (up to 40 days), it results in a leather that is soft and comfortable to work with and use, while being durable.
